We are just days away from the best county fair in the region. The Saratoga County Fair runs from Tuesday, July 21, through Sunday, July 26, 2015 and offers plenty of entertainment and attractions for everyone to enjoy.
For The Kids
Children were built to have fun! With rides left and right, plus a petting zoo, pig races, dog shows, magic shows, juggling acts and much, much more, there is no shortage of entertainment for young ones, or the young at heart at the Saratoga County Fair. And if 30 acres of rides, shows, carnival games and attractions weren’t enough, there are also several special events at the fair catering specifically to children and adding to the fun. For example, on Wednesday, July 22, children as young as four years old can put their imaginations to good use and compete in the Lego Contest for a chance at prizes across five age categories. On Wednesday, July 23, there’s the Donut Eating Contest and Kiddie Pedal Tractor Pulls. See the fair website’s “just for kids” page for details on more special events!
For The Grown Ups
Ride the rides by moonlight, or enjoy a late night in the live music pavilion — both open until the fair ends at midnight (you must be 21 years old with proof of age to enter pavilion after 7pm). This year, Saratoga County Fair contracted with Ledge Rock Hill Winery and Olde Saratoga Brewing Company to introduce New York State’s very first private labeled “fair” wines and beer, which are available only by the glass in the live music pavilion and only during fair week. The Saratoga County Fair Green Apple Blanc (a Crisp, crunchy green apple flavor with a light initial tartness and sweet finish) and Black Beauty (Pleasantly sweet and bursting with blackberry flavor) are both fruit infused white wines, while the Judges Stand Ale is medium in body and pale in color, with slight hop bitterness, making them perfect refreshments on a hot summer day.
For The Animal Lovers
Where else will you have the opportunity to see pigs, cows, horses, goats, rabbits, ducks, sheep, chickens, reindeer, camels, monkeys, llamas, obedient dogs and wild wolves all in one place? There’s a petting zoo offering a “hands on” opportunity to get up close and personal with some of these gentle animals as well as animal exhibits daily, competitions, shows and more to enjoy.
For The Penny Wise
The Saratoga County Fair is a great option for affordable, honest-to-goodness fun the whole family can enjoy. General admission is $10 each day, but “Smaller than Me” (52 inches and under) get in free. You can also save $1 per ticket with the discount price advantage sale “Tickets to Go” available at all Price Chopper locations through July 20. Admission is always free for active duty military with valid ID. “Pay One Price Rides” hand stamps are available every day for just $20 and are good from 12 noon to midnight (11pm on Sunday). Combine all this with free parking and freebie products being offered with admission on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and you’ve got yourself a great deal!

In addition to all the appealing activities and attractions listed above, the 2015 Saratoga County Fair has even more to offer.
