Betting on the horses is a big reason why people come to Saratoga Race Course, but let’s be honest: some people come so they can really dress up.
That clothes-horse spirit is not lost on officials from the New York Racing Association, who have set up a series of Fashion Saturdays at the track. The weekly event will kick off on Saturday, July 21 at the Coca-Cola Saratoga Pavilion from 10:30 a.m. until 5 p.m., and will run through Sept. 1. Live music including jazz and acoustic guitar will be part of the festivities.
“Style and fashion are inherently a part of the racing experience and we are excited to honor this custom with Fashion Saturdays at Saratoga Race Course,” said NYRA Senior Vice President and Chief Experience Officer Lynn LaRocca in a statement. “We encourage fans to join us each Saturday for an afternoon of shopping at the Spa where our guests can find the perfect item to complement their race day ensemble.”
Participating vendors include: Bumble Beads Boutique; Carol Wells Collection; Complexions Spa; Lifestyles of Saratoga; Miss Scarlett Boutique; The National and TOGA Heritage.
Fashion Saturdays are a perfect pairing with the string of major Grade 1 stakes races that will be contested every Saturday during the Saratoga meet, including the $1.25 million Travers on August 25th.
