If you have ever been curious about Latin music, or wondered what the difference is between the Lindy Hop and swing dancing, you’ll definitely want to check out Freihofer’s Live at the Jazz Bar Winter Series. It’s free, it’s fun, and the first event is this Thursday.

Dance the Night Away to Live Music
The two events that make up this series are Salsa Dancing With Alta Havana on Thursday, November 1st, and Swing Night With Annie and the Hedonists on Thursday, December 13th. They’re each happening at the Hall of Springs and are hosted by SPAC.
Attendees will learn how to salsa and do the cha-cha-cha at Salsa Dancing, and will be busting out some swing, Lindy Hop, and Charleston at Swing Night. Both events are free, although reservations are recommended. A cash bar room will be available from Mazzone Hospitality.
Background on Live at the Jazz Bar
This series of dance events began in February of 2018 as the Hall of Springs was being built. The idea behind the events is to feature live music by jazz, folk, and swing ensembles in conjunction with dance lessons. It’s a space for dance and music enthusiasts to gather, and it’s a way for SPAC to extend its offerings beyond the stage.
“Our Winter Jazz Bar series that we introduced at the beginning of the year was met with incredible enthusiasm from social dancers and connoisseurs of great live music, bringing hundreds of guests to our grounds during the winter and spring months,” Elizabeth Sobol, President and CEO of SPAC, said in a statement.
The Energetic Bands Heading Up the Events
Alta Havana performs traditional Cuban music and is made up of renowned musicians who have performed at major festival stages around the world. Annie and The Hedonists focus on songs from great female blues artists of the 20s, 30s, and 40s.
Don’t miss out on these two exclusive nights of incredible dancing and fun!
