IMPROV SPACES MUSIC FESTIVAL presents five days of live music, art, and dance, showcasing a range of Saratoga County and Capital Region musicians as well as bringing musicians and artists from New York City/New Jersey upstate!
Day 3 PROGRAM:
6PM: Thomas Dressler Historic Organ Improvisation
on the Round Lake Auditorium Davis-Ferris Organ
Day 3 of the IMPROV SPACES MUSIC FESTIVAL will feature Thomas Dressler who will be speaking about the Round Lake Auditorium’s historic Davis-Ferris Organ as well as the history of improvisation on the organ from Gregorian themes to Baroque music. He will play from a transcribed improvisation by J.S. Bach and improvise on the historic Round Lake organ.
PERFORMER BIO:
Thomas Dressler
Thomas Dressler is known for exciting, passionate performances on the organ and harpsichord which combine warm musicality with historic techniques. He has been performing for more than thirty years, often on historic instruments, including some of America’s oldest and most historic organs.
