The weather is always unpredictable in upstate New York. It could be 65 and sunny one day and then flurrying the next! To me, the weather in early spring always seems to be having an identity crisis! You need to be prepared! What do you need to shield you from the elements?
1. Trench Coat– The Trench Coat dates back to the first world war! This classic piece is perfect for the spring time because trench’s can hold up during the rain, but makes you look chic and put together. The standard color for a trench is beige, but mix it up a bit if you like to take a walk on the wild side! Try a bright, bold color or a striped trench coat.

2. Rain Boots- Rain boots are your chance to have a little fun with your fashion. I always get excited seeing people rockin’ bright colors and crazy patterns. The rain usually puts me in a bad mood…who wants to go outside when it’s raining cats and dogs?! But, when I see those happy looking rain boots it puts a little pep in my step! Don’t be afraid to go all out.

3. Floral- Nothing says spring like floral patterns. I love going outside and seeing the flower buds starting to sprout…so why don’t you match your fashion with the season?! Try a floral dress, pant or shirt. If you’re still testing the waters with this print, how about trying a floral shoe, to ease yourself into the trend?

4. Light Sweater- It’s still a bit chilly in the spring time. You never know when you might need an extra layer to fight the cold. This season I am going to try working pastel into my wardrobe. A pastel cardigan could be exactly what you and I both need!

5. Bright Makeup- Spring is all about the bright colors. What better way to experiment with color than in your make up? If you don’t like it, just wash it off! Bright pinks are so feminine and look good with most skin tones. Remember, if you’re going to wear a bright lipstick color, don’t pile on the eye make up…leave the heavy eye liner at home! You may end up looking like bozo the clown. Not good!
