The Peplum silhouette originated in the 1940s and then had a comeback in the 80s. We are starting to see the Peplum reemerge from the past and take over the runways. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the Peplum, it’s a frill that comes from the waist of a garment and falls over the hips. The concept of this is to create a flattering hourglass shape.
It’s time to get our Peplum on! (Try saying that 3 times fast)! The Peplum isn’t only on dresses, they can be found on tops, skirts and jackets. Peplums put a fun and feminine twist in your wardrobe! This trend is a refreshing contrast on the loose, baggy clothing that we have been seeing in past seasons. The Peplum nips the natural waist giving you a curvy, voluptuous look. I don’t hate it….

Love the second one. I need to add more hourglass to my figure so I’d definitely be willing to try this look out. Thanks for all the great suggestions Maura!
