Why Do I Write?
My whirlwind body is planted;
reconnected to its roots.
My raging-river mind is calmed;
pond-like stillness returns.
Unwieldy thoughts are pruned,
leaving the essentials to simmer.
Until, once again,
my heart
leads the way.

So why write? Writing allows us the much-needed time to reflect on ourselves, our people and our experiences. Take some time to ask yourself some questions. Write them down and then record your responses.
You might start with:
What do I value most?
Am I spending my time in a way that aligns with my values?
What are my hopes and goals?
What stops me from attaining them?
Or perhaps reflect on the people in your life:
Am I satisfied with my relationships?
What can I do to deepen them?
What can I do to bring comfort to others?
What do I admire about those around me?
Or maybe you’d like to recount your experiences:
How have I been spending my time?
What have I learned?
What do I notice about the world around me?
Take out your pen and enjoy the journey of your personal writing. You don’t have to be poet to connect with your heart.
