Dear Governor Schwarzenegger:
I am writing to you as a last resort effort to collect what is owed to me by law.
My child’s father, xxxxxxxxx, owes me almost xxxxxxx dollars in child support arrears.
My child support caseworker xxxxxxxxxxx here in Saratoga Springs, New York called me last week to inform me that Mr. xxxxxxx has taken it upon himself not to pay child support any longer because our daughter recently turned 18 years old. He feels he doesn’t have to pay the arrears simply because in his mind the ‘clock has stopped’
Incredulously, the state of California has agreed with him. Since when do you allow dead beat dads to dictate if they will pay child support or not?
I know that you have strong family values and that you, as I do believe in personal accountability. Please see a copy of Payments and Disbursements sheet that I faxed along with this letter. Below is more detailed information as well as my contact information. Thank you for your assistance.
By the way, about 10 years ago, I wrote to your wife Ms. Shriver regarding her book, Ten Things I Wish I’d Known Before I Went Out in the Real World, and she was kind enough to write me back and her letter is one of my most prized possessions.
My case number is xxxxxxx
Respectfully,
Nancy Muldoon
