What we have here is a communication problem!! That is a famous line from the movie COOL HAND LUKE.
There were definitely some problems regarding some water lines put in out on Route 9P.
Scirocco says everything is legit, but Accounts Commissioner John Franck and Eddy Miller imply otherwise. John Franck told Scirocco during tonights City Council meeting that he didn’t know what Scirocco was talking about and supposedly anything the Public Works Dept. does needs to be approved by the entire Council which makes sense to me.
Is this Saratoga’s version of CHINATOWN? stay tuned citizens of Saratoga, the upcoming election just got more interesting.

Actually the line from Cool Hand Luke was, “What we have here is…failure to communicate.”
And why the hyphen in Watergate? Watergate is one word. It is the name of the Washington D.C. hotel that the Republican operatives broke into in 1972.
Love the blog!
It is obvious that Water-Gate is a play on words ~ that is why the ‘G’ in Gate is capitalized.
The water (Public Works Dept) and the gates (which control the water and also refers to the gatekeepers – the politicians) and the final allusion to the illegal break-in and cover-up associated with the Watergate Hotel.
I thought it was very clever .
The quote I like from the movie is:
Arletta: Ya know, sometimes I wished people was like dogs, Luke.
Saratoga Guy, you might examine your need to be right…
My apologies to Citizen Nancy for misconstruing her words. Obviously I was not as sharp as I should have been. We all have those times.
And I agree Ms. Chamberlain, your reference is yet another excellent line from ‘Cool Hand Luke’.
I would like to say though Ms. Chamberlain, the last sentence of your post perhaps says more about you than me.
Hi Saratoga Guy,
You criticized Nancy on the spelling of Watergate ~ you corrected her movie comment, but since she didn’t put the comment in quotation marks there was no expectation of an exact quote. The very last thing you mentioned was that you liked her blog. I can’t see any reason to lead with criticism and criticism that shot from the hip and was not carefully thought out. What was your point? It’s psychology 101 and I stand by my comment ~ it showed a need to be right but added nothing. It’s a young person’s mistake ~ but if you want people to think that you’re smart then say something significant, don’t just nitpick someone else’s work.
At least you saved your criticism of me for the end of your post (after you apologized to Nancy) rather than leading with it. If it makes you feel less foolish to throw it back on me then go for it ~
