I volunteered at the Saratoga County Animal Shelter today. Its one of those things
that I always intended on doing but just never get around to doing it. I’m glad I finally got over there.
It’s sad to think about poor defenseless animals being abandoned and whose lives
are now reduced to sitting in a cage all day.
The Animal Shelter needs volunteers who are able to come even if its only once a week for an hour to pet and keep the animals company until someone comes to adopt them.
I love cats and spent all of my time with them, I even got to name a cat while I was there. His name is Charles.
All the cats were very friendly and became purring machines when I picked them up. All animals want is someone to love and pet them.
If you are unable to volunteer at the Shelter then perhaps you would like to attend their fundraiser this Thursday October 8th from 6-9pm at Saratoga National Golf Club. You may call the Saratoga County Animal Shelter for more information. 885-4113
The Shelter is located at 6010 County Farm Road, Ballston Spa, New York 12020 (right next to the county jail!)
Side Note: I believe that inmates should serve time doing community service work by having to care for animals and clean their cages etc. but I am sure that some politician would scream the “there is no funding for that!” mantra.
Yeah, whatever.
Please give into the urge to volunteer at the County Animal Shelter. Thank you and good day.
