Skidmore College has announced a new lineup of summer music and art performances as part of the Stewart’s Signature Series, which will begin in May.
Here is the lineup so far:
Saturday, May 13th, 8pm – The Manhattan Transfer: an American a cappella and jazz fusion/pop music group
Friday, June 2nd and Saturday, June 3rd, 7:30pm – The Trojan Women: presented by the Suzuki Company of Toga, Japan
Thursday, June 15th, 7:30pm – Stephen Petronio Company: a contemporary dance company gives a special performance
Saturday, July 22nd, 7:30pm – Selected Shorts: short stories will be performed live by both established and emerging writers
Stewart’s Signature Series is backed by Stewart’s Shops and the Dake family.
“We are proud to support the Stewart’s Signature Series at Skidmore which will bring exceptional performances to our community while reinforcing Skidmore as a cultural resource for everyone,” The Saratogian reports Susan Law Dake, President of the Stewart’s Foundation and a Skidmore alumni, saying in a press release.
More events and ticket information are expected to be released in the upcoming weeks. Tickets are already available for the first event, The Manhattan Transfer – they are $55/$45 and are available at skidmore.edu/zankel.
Also in the summer, Skidmore routinely hosts an UpBeat on the Roof free concert series at the Tang Teaching Museum. UpBeat on the Roof always includes a wide variety of musical groups that are worth checking out – it’s sure to be a fun summer at Skidmore!
