Two weeks ago the sun was shining, snow had melted, and record-high temps had us thinking that golf season in Saratoga might come a little early this year.
But last week Mother Nature had different ideas, with Winter Storm Stella dropping almost two feet of snow on much of the Capital Region.
So when will it be golf season in Saratoga?
Mild weather had been helping course workers get a jump start on cleanup and maintenance prior to the snow storm. But it will probably be a week or more before the snow fully melts and they are able to get crews out to clean up the fairways and greens again. With March’s unpredictable weather, it will most likely be early April before courses start opening up in the Saratoga area.
Saratoga National Golf Club is expecting their spring season to start on or around April 7, though that date will of course be subject to conditions. Many other courses in the area will probably open around the same time.
In the meantime, you can head on over to Tark’s Indoor Golf Club to get your swing in shape for the start of the season and check out our Saratoga Spring Guide for more information on golf season in Saratoga and fun spring time activities!
