I recently received an interesting e-mail from my “Aunt Rosemary.” It is something I thought you would enjoy reading. It speaks of friends, and I will add family, as our “Vitamin F. ” It resonated so much with me.
I am grateful for the variety of friends i have that come from all walks of life in their work, education, economical backgrounds, and locations where they live their life around the globe. I have met and remains friends with people known internationally, nationally to those known and not known locally. We are all fortunate to have the capacity to be open to these connections that enrich our lives, touch our hearts and help us know more about our souls and where we fit in this world.
On this blog, I especially want to thank you, my blog friends, many of whom i do not know, for continually following my writing, and contributing to the success of the blog. This month the numbers were over 1,500 visits, and over 3,000 pages reviewed. ( I always plan to send out a weekly blog. Sometimes it is a little later than that 🙂
Here is a copy of the e-mail, with a few minor personal changes:)
Vitamin F
I loved this and want to share it with you…
Why do I have a variety of friends who are all so different in character? How can I get along with them all? I think that each one helps to bring out a “different” part of me.
With one of them I am polite. I joke with another friend. I sit down and talk about serious matters with one. With another I laugh a lot. I may have a drink with one. I listen to one friend’s problems. Then I listen to another one’s advice for me.
My friends are all like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. When completed, they form a treasure box. A treasure of friends! They are my friends who understand me, who support me through good days and bad days. Some of us pray together and for each other.
Progressive doctors whom are experts in living a vital life tell us that friends are good for our health. Dr. Oz calls them Vitamins F (for Friends) and counts the benefits of friends as essential to our well being. Research shows that people in strong social circles have less risk of depression and terminal strokes. If you enjoy Vitamins F constantly you can be up to 30 years younger than your real age. The warmth of friendship stops stress and even in your most intense moments it decreases the chance of a cardiac arrest or stroke by 50%.
I’m so happy that I have a stock of Vitamins F!
In summary, we should value all our friends and family and keep in touch with them. We should try to see the funny side of things and laugh together, and pray for each other in the tough moments. We should remember the uniqueness and equality of all (in life !) but for sure when it comes to friends and family. Everyone contributes to everyones’ life, whether you know them or not 🙂
Thank you for contributing to mine….
Thank you for being one of my Vitamins !
