TRAVERS 1864 RESTAURANT WEEK
Reflecting the first year of the “Midsummer Derby”, Restaurant Week is a multi-county event throughout the Capital Region. More than 50 restaurants are offering a 3-course meal for $18.64. Tax, tip and beverages not included. The event is valid now through Thursday, August 25th.
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 24th
Mayor Johnson proclaims “ORIGINAL SARATOGA CHIP DAY”
This marks the 158th Anniversary of the invention of the Saratoga Chip by George Crum at Moons Lake House on Saratoga Lake. The first 100 people will receive a FREE snack box and a sample of the new “For Goodness Shakes” seasonings.

THE HECTOR & SUSAN BARRANTES POLO TOURNAMENT
This annual tournament honors Polo Stalwart, Hector Barrantes and his wife, Susan (mother of Dutchess Sarah Ferguson) who for years called Saratoga Polo home.

This is the QUEEN of ALL FASHION SHOWS. Sponsored by Saratoga Trunk, Owner Natalie Sillery pulls out all the stops for this star-studded event. Expected on the runway this year aside from stunning Cap Region models, Celebrity Designer, Don O’Neill with his Theia line; Peter Ciesla with his wearable art line, Bazyli Studio (new belt line!); Lisa Attea with Zelda and milliners: Lisa Battaglia and Mona the Mad Hatter.
Proceeds benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities. Watch for my special interviews/blog Thursday night.

TRAVERS CELEBRATION
This is the official party for the Travers Stakes Race. This year, the annual event has changed from a formal sit-down to a festive cocktail party benefitting the Times Union’s, Hope Fund and B.E.S.T. The Travers Celebration has helped raise more than 1 million for area charities. Tickets are still available.

14th ANNUAL BATTLE OF THE BREWS
This track event pits some of the region’s best craft beers in head-to-head competition to determine the best brew. Sponsored by DeCrescente Distributing. The event benefits The American Red Cross Adirondack Saratoga Chapter. Tickets are $30 per person and are available for purchase online. Your admission includes beer sampling, light food refreshments, and a commemorative beer glass, all brought to you in an ideal spot behind the main grandstand.

THE VEGAS WHITE PARTY FASHION SHOW
A benefit for the Adirondack Save-A-Stray organization. This unique Fashion Show will consist of 30-plus artists (models, photographers, make-up artists, hair stylists, dancers, painters, musicians and more) throwing a chic Vegas-style fashion show utilizing various artistic mediums. Food and drink will be available poolside by Catherine’s In the Park.
