Here’s an alarming fact that I recently read.
The average American consumes about twenty-six spoonfuls of refined sugar every day BUT the body only needs the equivalent of ONE teaspoon of sugar to operate their entire bloodstream. Whoa! So, between sodas, snacks, condiments, cereals, ready-made meals, and even an innocent looking slice of bread, Americans are consuming about 135 lbs of sugar per year per person which is leading to chronic diseases and obesity rates that are skyrocketing. Why is this happening? Because sugar makes food taste good, and American food companies want to produce food that sells!
Sorry folks, but there is no good news in this. If this trend continues 90% of us will be overweight or obese by the year 2032.
