We have just returned from a wonderful, week-long vacation in Bermuda with some friends. I did bring my sneakers and some workout clothes, but they stayed right in my dresser drawer. We did manage to walk around and swim a lot during the week.
This down-time really gave me some perspective into how much I workout in a week and how much I needed some recovery time for my body. My hip didn’t throb, my right shoulder didn’t ache and I felt pretty great for the first few days. By day 4, I started to feel the dreaded “vacation bloat” and by day 6, I was ready to get back into my spin studio.
Being active and strong has been a huge part of my life for the last 10 years and while I appreciated the break, I am ready to get back into my routine.
My workout plan for this week (might) go as follows:
Monday – 2 hours of spinning
Tuesday – 45 minutes of spinning followed by 15 minutes of weights, ending with core work and stretch.
Wednesday – 1 hour of Bodypump (barbell weight lifting class) followed by 1 hour of Spinning.
Thursday – 30 minutes of Barre Strength and Conditioning class (ballet, pilates and yoga all rolled into one!).
Friday – 45 minutes of spinning followed by 15 minutes of weights, ending with core work and stretch.
Saturday – rest day. I will walk to the Farmer’s Market in the morning though! That is about 2.5 miles.
Sunday – I would love to get in a 90 minute yoga class.
What does your week look like?
