Victoria Pool was the first heated pool in the US and has a rich and colorful history in Saratoga Springs, frequented by the rich and the famous.
Built in 1935, the pool complex was joyously received by the public and happy visitors reclined in lawn chairs and on towels surrounded by blue tile and gaily colored umbrellas. NY Governor Franklin D. Roosevelt became a strong proponent of the healthful environment of Saratoga Springs. He actively supported the building of Victoria Pool as part of an overall hydrotherapy program in combination with ‘taking the cure’ at the baths and mineral springs of Saratoga.
The architecture of Victoria Pool and surrounding buildings is simply amazing. Built in a traditional style of architecture with classic brick structures graced by arched colonnades, the pool also features a spectacular limestone deck and lion water spouts. Magnificent!
The Victoria Pool reopened in 2005 after going through an extensive renovation, returning it to its pristine condition. The pool's original boilers are too costly to run, so the pool is unheated until an alternative energy source is found. For now, you can enjoy the comfort of its cool water amid the historic architecture for which it is so renowned.
Located near two golf courses in Saratoga Spa State Park, Victoria pool has a maximum capacity of 350 people. A few of the locker rooms have been converted to a golf swing analysis and training facility. There are showers, lockers and rest rooms available.

Peerless Pool At Saratoga Spa State Park
Peerless Pool opens Saturday, June 23, 2012!

A wet and wonderful wonderland for kids, The Peerless Pool Complex features three different pool areas:
- Main Pool
The main pool at the Peerless Pool Complex in Saratoga is a football sized swimming pool that was built in 1962 and still in excellent condition. This huge rubber-bottomed pool has a zero-depth entrance, which simply means that the little ones can sit or stand in the shallow water at the very end of the pool and splash around. There are lifeguards on duty.

- Kiddie Pool
There is a smaller kiddie or baby pool at Peerless Pool Complex with just wading depth water of 1 foot deep. Within this pool is a large, mushroom-shaped fountain for the kids to run beneath. There is a separate lifeguard on duty dedicated to the kiddie pool, and small pool toys are allowed.

- Water Slides
For those with more adventurous kids, there is a really neat 19’ winding double waterslide pool for older kids and adults to enjoy. We use the term 'pool' loosely here, though this area is not for swimming. The water is 3 feet deep where the slides dump you out, so your children need to be big enough to ride. There are lifeguards at the top and bottom of the Peerless Pool water slides.

Peerless Pool is located within Saratoga Spa State Park at 19 Roosevelt Drive. Use the northern entrance to the park, and follow the signs to Peerless Pool. There are showers, lockers, rest rooms and food concessions (call for concession operating hours) available around the pools.
