Holiday Festivities In Saratoga, Ballston Spa Provide Opportunities For Fun And Shopping

Event planners in Saratoga Springs and the Village of Ballston Spa are putting the finishing touches on upcoming events that mark the beginning of holiday shopping season.

A pre-holiday Shop, Sip & Stroll event is among them. The first event of its kind in Saratoga Springs, sponsored by Saratoga.com, is attracting a lot of “likes, shares and comments” on Facebook. It will take place 5-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16. in downtown Saratoga Springs.

New York Collegiate Baseball League Adds Team In Saratoga County For 2017 Season

The Saratoga Revolution Inc., a newly created New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL) team, is coming to Saratoga County starting in the 2017 summer season.

The Moxie on Maple is a new salon to open in the Spa City at 19 Maple Avenue.

Co-owners Jennifer Marshall and Lisa Bernunzio have been involved in the industry for several years. Bernunzio lived and worked in New York City, attending the Carsten-Aveda Institute and working as a hair stylist. Marshall is from the local region and has worked in salons in the area.

It seems only fitting that the grand opening of the restaurant Nostalgia Ale House and Wine Bar was held on the 50th birthday of owner Kirsten Dahlgren. The restaurant, on Saratoga Lake at 113 Route 9P, combines a sense of warm memories, good food and drinks, family and friends, all things close to Dahlgren’s heart.

Dahlgren, along with co-owner Anthony DiDonna and a staff of 12, opened the restaurant based on the idea that it would have as a casual atmosphere filled with joyful reminders of the past. Dahlgren said they put a lot of time and effort into finding just the right things to pull the “nostalgia” theme together.

Construction is about to begin on a Market 32 supermarket in western Clifton Park, near the intersection of routes 146 and 146A.

The Golub Corp., which owns Price Chopper/Market 32 stores is building the store under its new moniker, hopes to open by early next summer. They cleared the last administrative hurdle–zoning board approval of proposed signage–in mid-October.

The restaurant serves up juicy, Angus beef burgers that the company says are made without steroids, antibiotics, growth hormones, chemicals and additives.
