Anyone who has undertaken a project in New York State since 1978 has at least some familiarity with the state Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA). All state and local governments must comply with SEQRA by considering the environmental impacts of projects before they are approved.
So, if your project must be approved by a governmental entity, the SEQRA process must be completed.

The town of Greenfield Lions Club and the Southern Adirondack Audubon Society have partnered to create a bird-friendly perennial garden in Greenfield Center Park.
The 20-acre park is located in Saratoga County, just off Route 9N on Brigham Road. Jesse Peters, owner of local landscape company Jessecology, was contracted to design and oversee the installation of the garden.
Peters has a degree in ecology, botany, and horticulture from Skidmore College. She opened her sustainable landscaping business after graduating in 2008. Sustainable landscapers create landscapes that are functional, cost efficient, visually pleasing, environmentally friendly and easily maintained.
Peters also owns and operates the Saratoga Wildflower Farm.

According to a recent Gallup poll, approximately 70 percent of employees consider themselves “not engaged” or “actively disengaged” at work. In many instances, their disengagement is directly related to their company’s culture.
Culture can be defined in simple terms as a company’s personality. It is reflected in everything from dress code to office setup. Culture often develops organically over time, based on the traits of the people the company hires, experts say.

Major music and entertainment venues these days must come up with creative ways to meet their annual budgets and remain a vibrant segment of the community.
They investigate many funding sources, and among them is working with corporations, offering them ticket, benefit and advertising packages that are a boon for both the companies involved and venues like Saratoga Performing Arts Center and Cool Insuring Arena.
Another major company, Live Nation, also uses corporate packages. VIP packages are a popular sponsorship choice for corporate partners, said Chris Perez, marketer of venue sales at Live Nation, who works out of the Saratoga office.

Meg Benke has been named provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at SUNY Empire State College.
Benke, of Saratoga Springs, first joined the college in 1991, and previously served as provost and vice president for academic affairs, 2011-12, as a member of the faculty and a department chair with the college’s School for Graduate Studies. Most recently she has been serving as provost on an interim basis.
She is nationally and internationally recognized for her expertise in individualized learning, educating adult students, online learning, and as an award-winning scholar.
Benke held several leadership positions with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, an accrediting organization that assures academic quality and integrity in higher education.
Saratoga Hospital is the recipient of the Mission: Lifeline Gold Receiving Quality Achievement Award for implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association for the treatment of patients who suffer severe heart attacks.
The Adirondack Thunder has announced the schedule for the 2019-20 season.
Spanning 72 regular season games, the Thunder will take on 12 different opponents, and face three teams that they have yet to see in their four previous seasons as a member of the ECHL.
