John Clapper was involved in the beauty industry
for more than 30 years as a hair stylist. He
had always wanted to open a day spa in Saratoga
County and noticed they were primarily located in
Saratoga Springs.
He decided to open a day spa in Milton that still
had a wide breadth of services and upscale feel.
After receiving his bachelor’s degree in business,
he opened the John Paolo Xtreme Beauty Institute,
which trains men and women in cosmetology, esthetics
and nail specialty. The school has campuses
in Ballston Spa, Latham, and Utica.
European Day Spa opened at 426 Geyser Road
in Milton. The spa offers a wide variety of services.
In the hair department, stylists offer cuts for men,
women and children; coloring and highlights; and
blow dry styling.
Waxing services include arms, legs, eyebrows,
chin, lip, bikini and Brazilian, and paraffin waxing.
Manicures and pedicures are among the services
offered.
“Right now we’re doing a lot of manicures and
pedicures,” said Clapper. Many customers want to
come in to get their hands and feet looking great
for the summer.
Guests can choose from the signature facial, express
facial, a chocolate facial, a champagne facial,
an anti-aging facial or an acne facial. Estheticians at
the day spa are able to perform microdermabrasion
services as well as glycolic peels.
One of the newest services at European Day Spa
is the teeth whitening service. Guests can come in
and over a period of time their teeth will be whitened
using a special system.
The day spa also offers a cellulite reduction program.
Guests can come in up to 11 times a month to
have cellulite gradually reduced from target areas
of their body.
Clapper is always offering promotions at the spa.
Clapper is dedicated to promoting business locally,
and is currently offering discounts on all skin care
services to Saratoga county residents.
“What makes our spa different is that we are a
local spa,” he said. “We’re a friendly, down to earth
place.” The 2,000-square-foot facility offers parking
for approximately 40 cars.
European Day Spa is open Thursday through Friday
from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.;
