Chances for storms will increase through Memorial Day

A cold front that pushed southward through the region early Saturday and gave us a break from the humidity, will stall out to our south late tonight into Sunday, before slowly starting back northward as a warm front and pushing through the region on Memorial Day. This will usher a very warm and humid air mass back into the region and set the stage for a potentially active and stormy period. The warm front will continue to be a focus for showers and thunderstorms each afternoon through Tuesday, when a stronger cold front will push in from the west.

So if you have outdoor plans this weekend through Memorial Day on Monday, keep an eye to the sky and stay weather aware. A thunderstorm could potentially damper your plans so you may have to duck for cover and have an alternate plan in place.

A warm front will begin to push back northward through Memorial Day and set the stage for a very warm and humid air mass that will potentially become stormy.
