About this event

Save the Date! From October 10-15, 2023, the Friends of the Saratoga Springs Public Library once again presents the annual Saratoga Book Festival. This festival features big-stage presentations and intimate conversations with acclaimed writers from near and far, including the Capital Region. Festival events will take place over the five days in nine venues in Saratoga's historic and walkable downtown, including the Saratoga City Center (the site of the Festival Hub and the SBF lively Literary Marketplace), the Saratoga Springs Public Library, Caffe Lena, The Inn at Saratoga, the Saratoga Arts Dee Sarno Theatre, and Walt & Whitman Brewery & Pub. The home of Yaddo, the famed artist retreat, three fantastic book stores, two colleges, and a vibrant writing culture, Saratoga Springs is a perfect place for residents and visitors alike to meet authors and talk about books, great writing, and big ideas.

Designed to encourage a lifelong love of reading, the festival will feature critically acclaimed writers of contemporary fiction, including historical fiction, crime fiction and mysteries, suspense/horror, sc-fi/fantasy, and romance; Young Adult titles; nonfiction, including history, current events, and health and wellness); poetry; and Books & Brews, our new book social series served up in some of Saratoga's most popular purveyors of beer, wine, and other spirits. Most events will once again be free and open to all. Over lunch, attendees and participants can visit area restaurants, bookstores, and shops and pop into SBF's own Literary Marketplace in the Saratoga City Center Main Hall to grab a nosh and visit the Local Author Showcase and Kid Zone where more than 80 local authors, publishers, and other exhibitors will sell books, do children's crafts, do book giveaways, readings, and more.
