Each lodging option comes with everything you need to enjoy a relaxing, back-to-nature getaway by the Battenkill. Every unit has its own Breeo smokeless open fire cooking pit too, and there are communal fire pits and gas-lit fire pits under a pavilion.

"They ask us what to pack and we tell them everything is taken care of, but when they come, they still say they overpacked," owner Michele Morrissey told us.

Dining While Camping Just Got Better

There's no need to bring food or firewood at The Preserve, where every little detail has been attended to!

You'll get your meals or ready-to-cook, farm-fresh market items from the on-site Provisions Outdoor Bistro and Food Counter. Dine in style with a craft beer or a glass of wine, or cook out over your own campfire.

There's also wood-fired pizza cooked at the on-site pavilion, a food truck, and an Outpost Resort store that's a 1/4-mile away, for purchasing any essentials you need. Each cabin is equipped with a refrigerator/freezer, and domes have coolers to store food.

On-site activities campers love include fishing, kayaking, tubing, hiking, biking, yard games, and there's a putting range. Guests can bring their own kayak or canoe, or rent one from The Preserve. Complimentary tubes are provided for guests, or they can arrange a tubing expedition with a local outfitter.

More activities are available close by like horseback riding, wine tastings, fishing lessons, and more - just ask The Preserve if you want help arranging fun things to do near the Battenkill.

Although options for things to do on site and close by abound, Morrissey stresses that there's no pressure to participate in activities.

Kick back and observe the wildlife and flora, watch the calming Battenkill flow, and be able to retreat back to your cabin and feel like you're at a luxury hotel.

"The goal for me is to have somewhere where people can breathe and relax, take walks, and not feel pressured to engage in an activity," Morrissey said.

There's even a sauna on the property for further relaxation and rejuvenation!
