Discover the Kayaderosseras Creek Through the Burl Trail

Burl Trail

Located just outside of Ballston Spa, this trail is the result of a group effort made by Friends of the Kayaderosseras and New York State Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. Volunteers constructed a level, wood chip trail, trimmed back trees and tall grass, and shoveled loads of wood off the pathway.

What To Expect

The Burl Trail sits on a 345-acre parcel of land that was recently acquired by New York State and is now part of the Saratoga Spa State Park. The trail is a one-mile loop along the Kayaderosseras Creek. A variety of plant life including wildflowers such as Black Eyed Susans can be seen during the warmer months throughout the trail. Along the walk, you will come across an access point to the creek called Gray's Crossing. Be careful of slippery mud as you get closer to the shoreline!

How To Get To Burl Trail

From Saratoga Springs, travel south on Route 50. Make a left at the traffic light onto Northline Road. Continue under the railroad bridge for about a half mile to the trailhead parking area on the right hand side.
