About this event
Join us at Fort Hardy Park Beach in Schuylerville for a day filled with excitement and laughter as sailors of all ages compete in the ultimate cardboard boat challenge.
Participants will construct boats entirely out of cardboard and race them across the Hudson.
Do YOU have what it takes to make HISTORY? Challenge friends, family, co-workers…and let’s see who wins one of the coveted awards: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards for speed, the Titanic Award, Most Enthusiastic Crew, Judges Bribe Award (“Bribes” are considered donations to Hudson Crossing Park), People’s Choice, Overall Best in Show, and Most Sailors Left Afloat!
Other highlights include: food from The Wandering Food Dude, a bake sale benefiting Hudson Crossing Park, live music by The Zucchini Brothers, environmental education activities, canal trivia, and terrific photo opportunities.
Admission is free for spectators. On-site registration for sailors and cardboard boat construction is open from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and the first race launches at 2pm. Rules, registration forms and hints to get started with boat building are available at Hudson Crossing Park's website. Pre-registration is highly encouraged.
