About this event
In 1926, the Zonta Club of Glens Falls organized the construction of a public bathing house at Haviland Cove, bringing together nearly a hundred local residents, community leaders, students, and contractors. While the original building is gone, it began a legacy of community gatherings during the summer months along the Hudson River beach.
On June 28th, local organizations, like Zonta Club of Glens Falls, Feeder Canal Alliance, elected leaders, like Assemblywoman Carrier Woerner and Councilman Sean Palladino, and local residents will be creating a community potluck, history celebration, and summer extravanganza to celebrate the past, present, and future of Haviland's Cove.
The event will take place on Sunday, June 28, 2026, between 1-5pm. Everyone is welcome, especially to bring food and drinks to share in a community potluck. We recommend bringing your own chair, as well as a bathing suit to enjoy our local beach.
Around 2pm, we will have speakers talk about the hundred years that encompassed Haviland's Cove. Throughout the event, information tables will be setup for residents to explore its history as well as local organizations, like Zonta Club and the Feeder Canal Alliance.
As the summer begins, join the community and celebrate together!
