About this event

Based in New York, this innovative string quartet, known for bold, imaginative programming, champions new compositions in the classical genre. Showcasing works by Gabriella Smith and Shelley Washington, this performance transforms contemporary chamber music into a vivid, unforgettable, experience.

Praised as “breathtaking” by New York Music Daily, The Overlook is a New York–based string quartet featuring violinists Monica Davis and Yezu Woo, violist Angela Pickett, and cellist Laura Metcalf. Formed during the pandemic to build community through music, the ensemble is committed to amplifying the voices of living composers and engaging audiences through performances that make contemporary chamber music both accessible and deeply compelling.

Followed by a lakeside reception.

This event is part of the Alfred Z. Solomon Masterwork Series, which includes Soulful Visions - Violinist Kinga Augustyn (June 27), Rooted - Soprano Vedrana Kalas (July 18), and The Overlook Quarter (August 8). Save when you buy a series subscription that gives you access to all three performances.
