About this event
The Jim Dandy Funky Dance Party — presented by Jive Hive Comes Alive — touches down at Putnam Place, Friday, July 31, bringing two of the Capital Region's hottest funk acts to Saratoga Springs for one big night: grooves, dat moves, dem shoes, guaranteed.
Leading the charge, the NoLaNauts — Albany's 10-piece New Orleans funk and brass collective — have been turning Northeast stages into full-blown Mardi Gras parties since 2020. Second-line parades through downtown streets, horn sections that don't quit, dance floors that only empty out when the lights come on — the Nauts have played to 20,000+ at Schenectady Summer Night and opened for Arrested Development, bringing the spirit of the Crescent City everywhere from The Palace Theater to your neighborhood brewery. It's always Party Gras Day with the NoLaNauts.
Joining them: The Alec Lewis Group, an Albany-based four-piece fronted by producer/sound engineer Alec Lewis, blending contemporary funk (think Cory Wong, Vulfpeck) with guitar-driven classic rock and blues (Dire Straits, Steely Dan) and a slick pop finish. Since their February 2024 debut and their 2025 EP Don't Cross Me, ALG has built a reputation as one of the region's most exciting young acts.
Doors at 7PM, show at 8PM. Tickets are $20 in advance / $25 day of show. Come funk it up with us — laissez les bons temps rouler!
