Celebrate America's 250th Anniversary at the Fair

The fair's "Liberty, Land, and Legacy" theme brings a unique historical element to the 2026 event.

Throughout the week, visitors can experience living history programs focused on Revolutionary-era life and America's founding. Special presentations will explore topics such as colonial printing, Revolutionary War music, military history, clothing worn by Continental Army soldiers, and women's trades during the 18th century.

Highlights include a public reading of the Declaration of Independence, Revolutionary War artillery demonstrations, and opportunities to learn about life in early America through hands-on exhibits.

The fair will also feature a Saratoga 250th and County History tent, helping visitors connect with the region's important role in American history.

Beyond this year's America 250 programming, visitors can also look forward to several new attractions and special events throughout the week.

One of the biggest additions is the new Fiber Celebration on Wednesday, July 22. This cross-department event highlights New York's fiber industry through live sheep shearing, cashmere goats, weaving demonstrations, and presentations about the New York Fiber Trail. Visitors can also learn about the journey from farm to fashion and meet experts involved in New York's growing fiber community.

The fair is also introducing the first-ever Saratoga County Fair Special Olympics Equestrian Invitational, giving talented athletes an opportunity to compete and showcase their skills during Thursday's programming.

Fairgoers can enjoy Scott's Foam Party, featuring millions of bubbles, music, and lights, as well as performances by the legendary Flying Wallendas, known for their gravity-defying aerial acts. Families can also catch Scott's Roaming Comedy Magic, bringing interactive entertainment to fairgrounds visitors of all ages.

  • Wednesday: Painted Pony Rodeo
  • Thursday: Hot Farm "Out of the Field" Tractor Pulls
  • Friday: NYTPA Championship Tractor Pulls
  • Saturday: 4-Wheel Drive Truck Pulls
  • Sunday: Demolition Derby Championship Finale

Live music will also be featured throughout the week, with performances from regional favorites including Electric Rodeo, Beatin' the Odds, The Dambreakers, 2096, MaddHaus, and The Refrigerators.

Saratoga's Got Talent returns as well, giving local performers a chance to shine before the finals on Sunday.

Family Fun, Agriculture & Fair Food

Agriculture remains at the heart of the Saratoga County Fair.

Visitors can watch livestock competitions, horse shows, draft horse events, and 4-H exhibitions throughout the week. Popular attractions such as the Mobile Dairy Experience, Robin's Heavenly Birds, Native Fish Aquarium, and Bob's Butterflies will once again provide educational fun for all ages.

Conservation Village will showcase traditional skills and crafts, including blacksmithing, pottery throwing, weaving on a historic barn loom, campfire cooking demonstrations, and paper marbling.

Of course, no fair visit would be complete without time spent on the midway. Amusements of America returns with rides and games for all ages, from family-friendly attractions to thrill rides.
