As a parent, there’s nothing better than knowing your child is enjoying a healthy meal that will help strengthen his/her body and mind. Or wait, maybe there’s nothing better than watching your child’s imagination soar as they giggle and play. Luckily, parents won’t have to choose between the two come August 13th, the target opening date for the all new Saratoga’s Kids Castle!
Editor’s Note 8/7/15: Construction delays have pushed the Grand Opening to August 13th, 2015. The article has been updated to reflect the new date.

This new restaurant will feature an elaborate indoor play center for kids of all ages while serving up entrees that are certified healthy. The menu has been co-created by Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Nichole Dooling of WholeNichole Nutrition and is filled with nutritious, hearty and authentic food representative of locally found ingredients.
Kids can look forward to oatmeal castle cookies, brick sandwiches, homemade baby food, and more. There is a complete breakfast, lunch and dinner menu daily for both kids and adults, as well as healthy snack options and a full cafe. Also, Saratoga’s Kids Castle is conscious of food allergies and intolerances by allowing for specialty menu items for both parents and children who need to make alternative choices.
At Saratoga’s Kids Castle, families can enjoy a healthy meal together, and then mom can kick back and watch the kids play as she enjoys a latte… or coffee… or loose tea… or smoothie… or, well, you get the idea.
Kids will have a blast as they explore the play centers and create imaginary adventures while meeting and playing with new friends. They can navigate through oversized castle structures and an elaborate walk-in pirate ship, enjoy play and craft tables, a toddler area, and so much more.
Construction is already underway for this new Saratoga kids’ attraction and family restaurant with plans to open later this summer.
Admission will be $10 per child with a discounted rate of $7 for each additional child and FREE admission after 4:30pm. Saratoga’s Kids Castle will be open for dine and play on weekdays from 9am-7pm with birthday parties available on Saturday and Sunday. The main dining room will also be open on weekends with free admission from 9am-7pm, but the pirate and castle rooms unavailable when reserved for parties during the day. Birthday parties can be booked now by emailing parties@saratogakidscastle.com
The owners are no strangers to the game, either. A pair of local entrepreneurs, Sara Cummings and Patrick Fitch are 50% owners each of F & C Development 1113 LLC, which owns Saratoga’s Kids Castle.
Cummings used to run a very similar business in Clifton Park, so this isn’t her first rodeo, and Fitch is part owner of Fitch Bros LTD, which owns two highly successful local taverns: The Saratoga City Tavern on Caroline Street in downtown Saratoga Springs and the recently revived Kings Tavern on Union Ave across from the Saratoga Race Course main entrance.
“We’re dedicated to making this a genuinely fun and safe restaurant that brings families together and reflects our passion for Saratoga while expanding the local kids’ scene in this amazing city,” said Cummings. “Saratoga’s Kids Castle will be a place where parents can feel good about taking their kids, from what they’re eating to how their imaginations can run wild.”
Saratoga’s Kids Castle is a family hot spot in the making, located at 26B Congress Street in the Congress Plaza near the new Embassy Suites. The grand opening date is expected to be August 13, 2015.
Are you excited for this new dining and play spot to open?
This will be a wonderful option for parents, grandparents or sitters with healthy choices! I personally and very excited!
Wait, so kids can’t use the pirate ship and castle on weekends unless they’re in a birthday party? Lame.
I agree! Most parents work weekdays! I think that decision should be reconsidered. Your closing half the play centers on the busiest days
we are so sorry for the disappointment in the weekend hours and for what may be available during that time.
We have extended the daily hours from the original plan to accommodate working parents and families per our initial feedback. We are now open until 7pm every night for dinner and have waived the entry fee from 4:30pm on as well.
There are NO entry fees on the weekends at all and with the extended hours, your child may enjoy the play area from 5-7pm even on the weekends.
There are three two hour time slots available each day for each party room on both Saturday and Sunday.
You may feel free to call ahead to see if there are any unfilled time slots, in that case the party rooms will remain open to the public diners.
We try our best to accommodate everyone while showing our party guests the best experience we can offer.
Thank you for your understanding and we have high hopes that you will come out to see us at the Castle!
