The Stuffed Dates Are To Die For
Boca Bistro is known for their tapas, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that their stuffed dates knocked our socks off. They have valdeon and Marcona almonds inside, and were wrapped in bacon with a cider glaze. I wish we had asked for at least two more orders. Don’t sleep on this unique dish!!
Coffee is a huge deal for my brunch date, so we were really excited to hear that they have an espresso machine. He was very pleased with his Americano, and I was impressed by how quickly the refills came! We also ordered a Bloody Mary (extra spicy) and a bottomless mimosa, which I highly recommend. The mimosa glasses are huge, and definitely a good bang for your buck.
The Main Meal
Choosing one main course off the menu was a challenge! I enlisted the help of our very knowledgeable server John, who pointed me toward the Boca Benny. The Boca Benny is one of the two Eggs Benedict dishes on the menu – it features serrano ham, a poached egg and hollandaise on toasted ciabatta. My fiancé landed on the potato hash, which came in a hot skillet with chorizo, shishito peppers, salsa brava, a sunny side up egg and aioli.
If you’re an Eggs Benedict connoisseur like I am, then you know that hollandaise can be a hit or miss. Boca Bistro goes the extra mile to make sure that theirs is a hit – they keep it in a special machine similar to a whipped cream can so it comes out fresh every time. The hollandaise is one of many areas where Boca Bistro excels – the service is fast, the staff is friendly, the ambiance pleasant, and the flavors are exciting.
