Treetop Adventures: For the thrill-seeking couple, Adirondack Adventure Center, about 25 minutes away in Lake Luzerne, opens in early May, and their 2-hour aerial forest canopy adventure features over 60 unique obstacles and over 20 ziplines. They also offer whitewater rafting and lazy river tubing.

“The ropes course was a lot of fun and challenging. I felt very secure with the equipment and how it all worked. . .Someone was always on hand for us if we needed help.”

Saratoga Springs Rainy Day Date Ideas

Don’t let a spring rain or snow shower spoil the mood! Saratoga has world-class indoor spots that are arguably even more romantic when it’s raining outside.

The Book & Brew Crawl

Northshire Bookstore: Northshire is the quintessential independent shop for the latest releases and local authors. Spend some quiet time together browsing the shelves, or check out an author signing or event.

“Great friendly staff. The store is amazing. Love that they are local and independent. Well organized and fully stocked with so much.”

Lyrical Ballad Bookstore: For a store with more whimsical vibes and used finds, head to Lyrical Ballad Bookstore, with its funky maze of rooms including a bank vault filled with rare reads.

“A wonderful maze of books. Room after room of shelves to the ceiling, cases full of old or rare books, an entire bank vault of precious tomes. The smell is intoxicating.”

Saratoga Paint & Drip: Now located in the Wilton Mall, Saratoga Paint & Drip offers a fun, step-by-step art experience great for any skill level. It’s an alcohol-free environment featuring tropical mocktails, java drinks, and soda floats. Don’t miss out on the new Splatter Room for a truly unique and memorable experience.

“We love to have our date nights here and everyone is always so fun and supportive! My wife and I are not artists and having this as an option to learn some new skills while also have a ton of fun is just so great.”

Saratoga Escape Rooms: Located downtown, Saratoga Escape Rooms is a newer business that offers private bookings so it can be just you and your date. Current room themes include Saratoga School of Magic, Echoes of the Lost Jungle, and Whispers Beneath Broadway.

“The puzzles were clever without being frustrating, and the experience felt really immersive. The props were especially impressive - everything lit up or popped open when we solved each step, which made it exciting and satisfying to progress. You can tell a lot of thought went into the design and details.”

Romantic Dining: From Pasta to Patios

Spring weather is unpredictable. With our two recommendations here, you can’t go wrong whether you’re sitting outside or in - but do sit outdoors if given the chance!

Wheatfields: Wheatfields is known for being a scratch kitchen, with freshly made pasta and the ability to make many items on the menu gluten free. They're right on Broadway, making patio dining a perfect opportunity for people watching.

“We had the chicken parmesan (with the amazing homemade pasta!) and the pork osso buco special. The pork was so tender and the accompanying mashed potatoes and crispy balsamic sweetened brussels sprouts were so good. One of the best meals I’ve ever had at a restaurant.”

15 Church: 15 Church offers an upscale, mouthwatering experience, excellent for a date night. Guests love their craft cocktails and seafood and lamb options.

“The scallop risotto was the best meal I have ever eaten. Incredible. Really enjoyed the steak and focaccia as well. Everything was so mouthwatering and delicious. Incredible meal and experience.”

Spring Date in Saratoga FAQs

Wheatfields typically kicks off the season with a Patio Party on or near April 1. Most other restaurants follow suit around this time, weather permitting.

Beyond the bookstores, Saratoga Paint & Drip, and Saratoga Escape Rooms highlighted above, it's the perfect time to check out museums like the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame, Saratoga History Museum, and Tang Teaching Museum.

Yes! Spring is officially mud season when it comes to the woods. We recommend waterproof hiking boots and checking trail conditions before you head out. If it's May or early June, you're likely safe from mud if it hasn't recently rained.

You can always browse the events calendar for ideas! We suggest Night at the Brewseum in late April, and Saratoga Comic Con and the Spring Auto Show in early May.

No matter the weather, you're set for a memorable spring date night in Saratoga!
